Tonight I watched Phantom of the Opera for the first time. I'd had the soundtrack when I was younger and knew the songs but had never seen the play or movie. When I left the auditorium I was singing songs from my childhood.
Reconciling the light and dark. Needing them both. Loving them both. Seeing in one the dreams of limitless potential and seeing in the other the warmth and nourishment of summertime. I watched transfixed, even though I knew how it would end; with light and dark achieving balance in service to the archetypal Female Creative Source.
